The Touring Bike
This bike was inspired by the great French 650B (584mm) touring bikes. But
because 650B wasn't a practical wheel size over here I used the slightly
smaller mountain bike wheel (559mm). This is an
increasingly popular
substiution, even in France. I use this for touring and general
transportation. I commute on it, go to the store on it and use it whenever
it's just me that I have to get around. It has centerpulls with braze-on
pivots because a frame builder's bike has to have something a little nutty
on
it. I don't like to experiment on the customers so I do it on myself. They
work well. The French bike has braze-on pivots as well.
