The French Bike

I've always loved French bikes, particularly Rene Herses and Alex Singers

Sadly, I never found one to fit me

.

So I made my own interpretation of the classic

French randonneur bike.

Head Tube

Crown

It's made of Columbus tubing with short point lugs..

and a double plate fork crown.

Brakes

The color is a very French shade of green.

The detailing is French.

All the parts on this bike are French.

Simplex seatpost, derailleurs, bar end levers and Demultiplicator; TA cranks, bottom bracket, and pedals; Christophe clips; AVA straps; Milremo bar and stem; Mafac brakes and levers; Tressostar handlebar tape; Maillard and Plessier hubs; Super Champion clincher and Mavic sew-up rims; Hutchinson tires (both clincher and sew-up). Only the cable housing, small bolts, and fenders (Honjo reproductions) are not French.

Seat Cluster

This bike also has a set of sew-up wheels

for that fast club ride on Saturday morning.
